Justice Peter N. Browne serves on the Supreme Court of Newfoundland and Labrador (General Division), where he hears civil, criminal, and administrative law matters. He earned his LL.B. from Dalhousie University and was called to the Newfoundland and Labrador Bar in 1985.
Before his appointment to the bench, he practised for more than three decades with Curtis Dawe in St. John’s, focusing on complex civil litigation, including medical malpractice, administrative law, and commercial disputes. Justice Browne is actively involved in judicial education and legal scholarship and has contributed extensively to professional and community organizations, including leadership roles within the Canadian Bar Association.
He is committed to advancing the fair administration of justice and exploring the responsible use of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, within the judicial system.

Le juge Peter N. Browne siège à la Cour suprême de Terre-Neuve-et-Labrador (Division générale), où il entend des affaires en droit civil, en droit criminel et en droit administratif.
